Raising standards in tutoring, together
Tutor Training and Development with Heart
Qualified Tutor is a UK-based professional development community that supports tutors to be safe, skilled and supported through training, networking, and recognition. We offer courses, credentials, and a welcoming community to help tutors grow confident, build their practice, and make a bigger impact.
One in three UK secondary students depends on a tutor*—but who can those tutors depend on?
A super supportive community for new tutors and established educators.
After almost twenty years in traditional secondary education, I took the leap two years ago into private tutoring. It has been amazing in many ways but until recently I lacked a sense of community, support and shared vision.
Joining Qualified Tutor has been brilliant in that regard. Julia, Odette and the community are so supportive, kind and inspiring and the range of sessions they run are practical, valuable and enjoyable!
A recent ‘Supervision Circle’ session I attended was more useful than any other CPD I’ve had in twenty years of teaching – I highly recommend QT!
Being a tutor can sometimes feel isolating, but this Qualified Tutors community has completely changed that for me. What I love most is the incredible culture of knowledge sharing—everyone is eager to help, exchange ideas, and provide insights that make us all better at what we do. Beyond that, there’s a strong sense of hand-holding and support. Whether you’re struggling with a tough student situation, looking for new strategies, or just need encouragement, there’s always someone ready to lift you up. It’s a space where you feel truly not alone in this journey, which makes all the difference with Julia and Odette making us strive for better! If you’re a tutor looking for a place to grow, learn, and connect with like-minded educators, I highly recommend joining this community!

Handwriting for left-handed children (and adults!)
Left-handers just do a mirror image of right-handers. don't they? It's all very simple and straightforward. Well actually NO! It really isn't as simple as writing the opposite way round to a right-hander. I suggest that you try writing yourself: do it slowly to...
#2: All Behaviour is Communication
In the second of the 4-part series, Jack Simmonds challenges us to question our own perceptions about behaviour in our students. Take, for example, the old stereotype of the distracted student rocking on their chair: are they really distracted, or are they trying to tell us something?
Failing My A-Levels Was the Best Thing That Could Have Happened to Me
The title needs little explanation, yet this is about as far from clickbait as possible. Clio writes with honesty, intelligence and more than a splash of humour. An important read for anyone with an ADHD diagnosis … but a must read for anyone without
