Festival I Library I Book I Movement
Love Tutoring is an invitation, a provocation, a challenge and a question.
How do we ignite passion in the tutoring profession?
With a festival, a library, a book and a whole lot of love.
We are pleased to announce the return of the Festival this coming January 2022. From Monday 24th January to Friday 28th January 2022, Qualified Tutor will be hosting LTF2.
There is so much for us to learn as tutors. Keep your thinking fresh with the Love Tutoring Library, sponsored by Manning’s Tutors.
Tutoring is Not Plan B. It’s a Legitimate Profession and, for some a better career choice.

I highly recommend this course! Having been a tutor for many years and having done many courses I was pleased to find a course specifically designed to train tutors. The content of the workshops is excellent: enough detail to remember but not too much to overwhelm you. Julia and her team are so enthusiastic…it is infectious!
The course enforced the importance of finding a tailored approach to education and tutoring rather than the traditional ‘one-size-fits-all’ system. I thoroughly enjoyed such discussions in the course and the chance to speak to tutors from diverse levels of experience and backgrounds.
It was a good experience, in which I learnt a lot and I am sure my tutoring is going to improve massively from it. It was also nice to interact with like-minded people in a supportive community.
I REALLY enjoyed the course and have gained so much confidence from it. It was ran by such friendly, open-minded people and it felt very affirmative to be around people who understand the nuance of tutoring and to affirm and consolidate beliefs as well as strengthen my values.
I appreciate the techniques and tools on tutoring that were shared by the highly skilled and professional trainers in the course. The entire training was cultivated with lots of insights and a great sense of community amongst tutors.
Qualified Tutor has really made me understand all the ways a tutor can improve the lives of an ordinary student that is struggling to keep up at school.
They showed me all the ways I can improve myself as a tutor and be the best person I can be.

I found the course very helpful and it gave me a toolkit of ideas for when I am able to start tutoring. I found the Learning Loop useful for planning both individual lessons and also the more general path of a module. In addition, it has helped me think more deliberately how to apply theories of learning and memory to my job.
An effective, thorough course for all wishing to tutor.
I didn’t know I needed this course, and yet I did! It really helped me take a set back and look at my role as a tutor from a different perspective. It allowed by to think of the bigger picture, while at the same time breaking it up into smaller steps.
“This is an excellent course for new and experienced tutors alike. New tutors who have not taught will learn a tremendous amount about pedagogy, professionalism, assessment, safe working and supporting students with additional needs.
Experienced tutors, especially those who trained as teachers, will have the chance to review all the good teaching practices which they were explicitly taught and have probably become second nature. The course helps make those practices conscious and deliberate again and highlights areas for reflection and development.
I highly recommend this course for anyone who recognizes the positive role a tutor should play in a student’s life, and the level of trust a parent places in someone they hire to perform that role.”
The course was great, and I have thoroughly enjoyed each week as much as the next. I have been able to build on what I already know and acquire so much more knowledge in the process. The added bonus was sharing this experience with like-minded individuals to share my experience and enthusiasm with.
Qualified Tutor provided a fantastic course that I would advise anyone to take who wants to learn to be a better tutor and mentor to their students.
I feel much more confident as a new tutor now that I have these new tools to use to help my students flourish.

Extremely organised and insightful course with a great combination of knowledge and group discussion to encourage learning an reflection! Loved it!
I enjoyed the course and believe it has given me the confidence to be a better tutor and understand my role more.
What better than a safe space to discuss how to provide safe learning spaces to students?
I was given a lot of guidance for my tutoring work that I think will really benefit the students that I work with. We learned about ideas based on research, and the activities helped to gain a depth of understanding of this material. The instructors were great at creating an environment where all of the tutors shared their insights, experiences and ideas openly, and so we learned a lot from each other. Thank you for the course!
I think its a great course and I definitely recommend to my friends who are in teaching. Its quite helpful for new tutors as well as experienced tutors.
I have taken a lot from this course that I believe will help me to be a better tutor. From the 7 Ps of professionalism to the learning loop I feel more prepared to plan my lessons effectively and confident I can create a culture for learning.
“Coming into this training with only a year of tutoring experience, I was unsure about a lot of things. Some of my main concerns were in assessing my student’s level, and building and maintaining a trusting yet professional relationship with them.
I feel so much more confident now in my ability to provide students with the help they need while making the experience of learning much more enjoyable for everyone involved. I can’t wait to put the tools I’ve learned into practice!”
I really enjoyed how concise yet useful the models taught are. I will definitely put them into practice!
I am now aware that using various forms of assessing and reassessing can really help the tutor in knowing how effective the session has been and therefore able to change the teaching style if necessary.
I would definitely recommend this training to all tutors. Whether you’re new to tutoring or you’ve been doing it for a while, it really doesn’t matter; you’re guaranteed to learn something, because everybody has their own approach. The chance to speak with teaching professionals and fellow tutors at the same time was so valuable. I look forward to gaining more insights from the community going forward!
The course organizers were terrific! Julia Silver stands out, I could listen to her talk about inspiring the children forever.
